Terms of Service.
— 1. Acceptance —
By creating an account, drafting a filing, or paying a recording fee, you agree to these Terms of Service and the accompanying Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
— 2. The service —
Make It Official produces ornamental, parody friendship contracts. We render certificates, store filings, accept payments, and maintain a public registry. We do not provide legal, financial, or therapeutic advice.
— 3. Eligibility and consent —
You must be 13 years of age or older to use Make It Official. For a co-signed filing — any filing with two or more signing parties — every signing party must affirmatively consent by affixing a typed signature. For a solo filing, the petitioner files alone on behalf of one or more represented parties who do not sign; by submitting a solo filing the petitioner represents that the bond described reflects a real relationship offered in good faith and that no represented party has objected to being named. Filings made to harass, defame, or impersonate any person — solo or otherwise — are misuse and grounds for revocation.
— 4. Fees and payments —
Make It Official charges a single flat recording fee for the whole filing, paid once by the petitioner. Tiers are quoted in the workspace at the time of payment and depend on the filing type and number of parties: solo, two parties, three to five parties, and six or more. Optional add-ons include expedited processing, the premium certificate, and private filing (which removes the filing from the public registry). Dissolutions and breach claims each carry a flat $19.99 ceremonial filing fee; this fee is the entire amount charged at checkout. Any "agreed amount" or breach-clause amount the user enters is recorded on the certificate as ceremonial detail only — no funds are transferred to any other party. All payments are processed via Stripe. Recording fees are final once the certificate has been issued; dissolution and breach-claim fees are final once the corresponding entry is recorded.
— 5. Public registry and privacy —
Officiated and dissolved filings appear on the public registry by default. Parties may elect a private filing for an additional one-time fee, which removes the filing from the public registry. Private filings remain visible to the parties involved and to Make It Official operators as required to operate the service.
— 6. Acceptable use —
You agree not to use Make It Official to harass, threaten, defraud, or impersonate any person; to attempt to bind a party who has not consented; to upload illegal content; or to interfere with the operation of the service or with the AI assistant. Violations may result in revocation of certificates, suspension of accounts, and forfeiture of fees already paid.
— 7. Intellectual property —
Make It Official retains all rights in the platform, the certificate designs, the source code, and the marks. You retain rights in the bond names, clauses, and signatures you contribute, and you grant Make It Official a non-exclusive license to host, display, and render those contributions in furtherance of operating the service and the public registry.
— 8. Termination —
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Termination does not refund fees already paid for certificates that have been issued.
— 9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability —
Make It Official is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service shall not exceed the total fees you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim. See the Disclaimer for the full statement on the parody, non-binding nature of these instruments.
— 10. Disputes —
Public disputes raised through the in-product disputes channel are a ceremonial feature of the registry and have the same non-binding character as the certificates themselves; they are not arbitration, mediation, or any form of legal proceeding. For any actual complaint about the operation of the service — billing, account access, data, misuse — contact us first at make.it.official.support@gmail.com and we will work in good faith to resolve it.
— 11. Governing law and venue —
These Terms of Service and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or relating to them are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. The state and federal courts located in Utah shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not resolved informally under §10.
— 12. Changes —
We may revise these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the site or by email. Continued use of the service after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
— 13. Contact —
Questions about these terms may be directed to make.it.official.support@gmail.com.
